Verification policy

Verification is one of the things that makes nannynet feel different. Here’s exactly how each badge works, what it does and doesn’t mean, and what we do with the data.

Verified Identity

We use Persona (or an equivalent third-party identity provider) to confirm a government ID and a selfie match. Identity images are processed and stored by our verification vendor under their security standards. nannynet stores only a verification status, the document type, the country of issue, and a timestamp.

A Verified Identity badge is not a background check, not an endorsement, and not a guarantee of past employment.

CPR / First Aid

Members upload a current certification card. A reviewer on our team confirms the program is recognized and the date is within its valid window. We re-prompt for renewal at expiry.

NCS Certified

We accept certifications from recognized newborn-care programs. Reviewers confirm legitimacy and active status. The badge is required to participate in the NCS-only room.

Tenured Nanny

Five or more years of working experience, attested by two peer endorsements and supported by stable activity history on nannynet.

Background checks

We do not provide background checks at MVP. If we offer them in the future, they will be run by an FCRA-compliant vendor with explicit consent, and the resulting badge will be described separately.

Retention

Verification artifacts are retained only as long as needed to maintain the badge or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time, with the understanding that the related badge will be removed.
