Verification policy

Verification is one of the things that makes nannynet feel different. Here’s exactly how each badge works, what it does and doesn’t mean, and what we do with the data.

How you join

Every member joins through an application. All invite links are single-use and tied to the person they are sent to, once a link is used it cannot be reused or forwarded to someone else. There are three paths:

  • Invite link from a founding community leader, your application is approved instantly and you earn the Community Verified badge.
  • Invite link from any other member, the link acts as a referral that supports your application, but our team still reviews it within 24-48 hours, the same as applying with no link.
  • No invite link, submit a reference (a peer or a family). Our team reviews within 24-48 hours. You have read-only access while you wait.

Community Verified

Granted automatically when you apply with a valid founding community leader invite link. It signals that a trusted member or our team vouched for you joining.

A Community Verified badge is not a background check, not an endorsement, and not a guarantee of past employment. It only signals that you were reviewed and approved as a professional nanny or NCS to join the community.

Credentials (CPR, First Aid, NCS, and more)

Members add their own credentials from their settings: the credential, the issuing organization, and the issue and expiration dates, with an optional link to verify. These are self-reported. the nannynet does not independently verify professional credentials, and a badge is not an endorsement or a guarantee. We remind members to renew as an expiration date approaches, and an expired credential is flagged for the member to update.

Background checks

We do not provide background checks. If we offer them in the future, they will be run by an FCRA-compliant vendor with explicit consent, and the resulting badge will be described separately.

Retention

Verification artifacts are retained only as long as needed to maintain the badge or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time, with the understanding that the related badge will be removed.
