Community Guidelines
nannynet is a community of working professionals. Treating it that way is what makes the space worth being in. These are the standards we hold each other to.
Our principles
- Nannies first. Always.
- Confidentiality of employers is sacred. No naming families publicly.
- Be a coworker, not a competitor. Refer roles. Lift up peers.
- Share generously. Receive gracefully.
- No discrimination. Ever.
- Off-platform behavior reflects on the community.
- Disagree without harm. Strong opinions, soft delivery.
Privacy of the families you work for
Don’t share family last names, addresses, photos of children, or details that could reasonably identify them. If you need help with a sensitive situation, post anonymously and keep specifics minimal.
Posting standards
- Stay on-topic for the room you’re in.
- Use the Q&A format for questions you want crowd-sourced answers to.
- Disclose when you’re sharing a referral you have a stake in.
- Don’t collect placement fees through nannynet. We’re not an agency.
Anonymous posting
We provide anonymous posting for sensitive topics, pay, conflict, harassment. Anonymous does not mean unaccountable. Our trust & safety team retains identity for moderation purposes; misuse may result in suspension.
What gets you removed
- Harassment, slurs, or targeted attacks on members or families.
- Doxxing or sharing identifying details without consent.
- Discrimination on protected characteristics.
- Off-platform conduct that endangers a child or another member.
- Sustained, willful violations after warnings.
Enforcement
Most issues are handled with a private nudge or a content edit. Repeated or serious violations escalate to warnings, suspensions, or removal. Decisions are appealable via Settings → Help.
